How did | end up here, suddenly part of a family? My whole life, I'd been told | had no one. Now | was supposedly
part of an alpha bloodline?
Magnus looked older than me, probably around Kane's age- maybe three or four years my senior.
He carried himself with natural grace. The way he spoke tofelt genuinely warm, but how could | trust what
he was saying?
As if sensing my unease, he changed the subject. “Are you in any pain, Avalon?”
I froze.
Avalon?
Who was he talking about?
Clearly, he had the wrong person.
| pushed his hand away from my head. “See? This proves it’s impossible. You've gotmixed up with someone
else. I'm not your sister. I'm not Avalon. I'm Selene.”

He studiedfor a moment. When | tried to pull out my IV, he gently stopped me.
“You have a birthmark on your arm,” he said, looking at my hand.
| paused, meeting his gaze.
“What? | don’t see any birthmarks. | don’t have any...”
A thought struck me, makinghesitate before adding, “Well, | might have snew marks. | got pretty beat
up running through the woods. That must be what you're seeing.”
| tried explaining that he was mistaken.
But then | noticed something strange - those injuries hadn't left any marks.
How had they vanished so quickly?
I turned to him, confused.
“H-How did they heal?”
“Take it easy,” he said softly.
“Easy? How can | take it easy? My wounds just disappeared like they never existed!” | checked my right foot
where the thorn had stabbed me.
Nothing. Not even a scratch!
“You have advanced healing abilities - that’s why you don’t see external scars. But | can see them, including
your birthmark.”
I fell silent, stunned.
‘Is he telling the truth? Could I really be his sister?’ It was overwhelming.
“I'm going to call Mom and Dad,” he announced suddenly.

My heart started racing.

| never dreamed my real parents might be alive, let alone that I'd meet them.

Magnus wiped away my tears and pulledinto a hug. In his arms, | felt something I'd never felt before - | felt
home.
“We've been searching for you forever. You have no idea how happy they'll be.”

Finally accepting he was my brother, | hugged him back, sobbing into his chest. As he stroked my hair
comfortingly, he asked what had happened to me.
He wanted to know where I'd been all these years and about my pregnancy.
Looking down, | answered, “I divorced my husband.”
“Who's your ex-husband?” he asked.
“Kane Thorne.”
His eyebrows knitted together. | figured he probably knew Kane as a future alpha.
“Telleverything. | want to know your whole story.”
Through tears, | told him everything.
“I'm so sorry, sis. They'll pay for this,” he promised.
“Magnus, please don’t.”
“No. The Alpha family will suffer ten times what they did to you,” he growled.
| pleaded with him.
“For my babies’ sake, don’t do anything. | don’t want Kane knowing about his children.”
He took a moment to calm himself before saying, “Fine, | won't act. But you need to take your rightful place as
the Alpha’s daughter.”
