When | opened my eyes, the sunlight streaming through the window hit my face, making it impossible to keep

them open-or to go back to sleep.

Groaning, | grabbed my pillow and pulled it over my face, trying to block out the light. But just as | was about to

drift off again, a knock at the door shattered my peace.

“Young Miss.”

The familiar voice of one of my maids madewince. It felt like an annoying buzz in my head.

“Go away. I'll wake up later,” | mumbled under the pillow.

“Young Miss, the Alpha is calling for you. You need to get up.”

| stayed still for a moment, teetering on the edge of sleep, but another knock forcedback to reality.

Frustrated, | threw the pillow aside and sat up with a scowl.

“What?!” My voice cout rough and hoarse, and the moment | yelled, a sharp pain shot through my throat.

My head throbbed like hell.

| clenched my jaw and forced myself to speak louder. “Cin.”

The door opened, and my maid stepped inside, carrying a tray. On it sat a glass of water, a steaming cup of

coffee, and a small packet of pills.

| patted the space beside me, and she set the tray down on the bedside table.

“Miss, Alpha said you should take this medicine,” she informed me.

I blinked at her in confusion. “Medicine? What for?”

“For your headache.”

My frown deepened. “How does my brother know | have a headache?”

Her lips twitched slightly. “You chdrunk last night.”

At her words, my eyes widened. Memories of last night rushed back, hittinglike a tidal wave.

| slapped a hand over my mouth. “Oh... right. That happened.”

The maid chuckled at my reaction. | quickly dropped my hand and cleared my throat. “What's so funny?”

She lowered her head but still smiled. “Miss, you were acting quite childishly last night.”

| blinked, trying to process what she meant. “Wait... did my babies seelike that?”

She quickly shook her head, and | let out a relieved sigh.

“Alright, you can go now,” | told her.

She bowed slightly before leaving the room.

| rubbed my temples, trying to recall the details of last night. And then-one particular face popped into

my mind.

“Oh no! Doctor Grayson sawdrunk!”

| groaned and lightly smacked my own cheeks. “What must he think of me?”

All the effort I'd put into making a polished impression at the council party was completely undone in one night.

“Selene, what is wrong with you? If you can’t hold your liquor, you shouldn't be drinking in the first place!” |

scolded myself.

| glanced at the clock and cursed under my breath. | was late for work. | never overslept like this.

Then | noticed a message from Axel. He had informed Rachel that | wouldn’t be coming today

to

the office

Guilt twisted in my stomach. Everyone aroundwas trying to helpbeca responsible woman, yet here

| was, making reckless decisions.

Shaking

my self-loathing, | grabbed the glass of water and swallowed the pill, hoping it would help with my pounding

headache.

As soon as | finished, | pushed myself out of bed and headed straight for the bathroom, knowing that Magnus

was probably already pissed at me. | couldn't afford to keep him waiting..

After a quick shower, | stepped out, wrapping a bathrobe around myself. | walked to my closet and pulled out a

simple dress since | wasn’t going to work anyway.

Once dressed, | ran a towel through my damp hair and hurried out of my room, making my way toward the living

room.

The closer | got, the more embarrassed | felt. Facing Magnus after last night was going to be humiliating.

When | entered, | saw him sitting on the couch with my twins.

“Mommy!”

The moment they saw me, they ran toward me. | kneeled down, embracing them tightly as they clung to my

hands, leadingto the couch.

Avoiding Magnus’s gaze, | sat down, my nerves worse than when | had to close my last business deal. “Magnus...

I'm sorry,” | mumbled.

“Mommy, why are you apologizing to Uncle? Did you do something bad?” Luna asked, looking up atwith

wide eyes.

| gave her a small nod. “Yeah, Mommy was bad. | upset your Uncle Magnus.”

| hesitantly glanced at Magnus, waiting for him to say something

But he just stared atsilently.

Forcing a smile, | turned back to my twins. “Mommy needs to talk to Uncle Magnus. Can you two go play in your

room for a bit?”

“Yes, Mommy!” Leo chirped before taking Luna’s hand, and they ran off.

With them gone, | focused on my brother again.

He still wasn’t saying anything.

| shifted nervously before finally getting up and sitting beside him.

Grabbing his hand, | pleaded, “Magnus, please. Please forgive me.”

He rolled his eyes.

| pouted. “Con, Magnus! Am | not your little sister? Can't you forgivejust this once?”

He simply pushedaway with one finger. “You were alone with another man while drunk. What if he had taken

advantage of you?”

I clung to his arm. “Magnus, don’t be mad at Doctor Grayson. He's a good guy. He helpedget into the car

and made sure | got hsafely.

Magnus tilted his head, his sharp gaze locking onto mine. “Is he the reason you keep rejecting Axel?” My eyes

widened in shock. “What?! No, Magnus! I've never thought of him like that!”

He studied my face for a moment before relaxing slightly. Reaching out, he ruffled my hair. “You know I'd do

anything for you, right? If you like someone, just tell me. I'll support you.”

Before | could respond, the front doors opened, and Magnus'’s officials entered the pack house.

“Alpha.”

| turned to see them approaching. My eyes instinctively found Axel, who briefly glanced atbefore shifting his

focus back to Magnus.

Nodding toward the main gate, Axel announced, “He's here.”

| frowned. “Who?”

Before | could ask, | noticed several luxurious cars pulling up outside.

The moment the vehicles cto a stop, guards emerged, making their way to the center car. One of them

opened the back door.

Then, a man stepped out.

Dressed in a sharp black suit, he carried himself with an aura of absolute authority.

Beside me, | heard Magnus mutter under his breath.
