Grayson’s PON
This was exactly what happened when | let my vulnerability in cracks forming while my enemies thought they

As | walked through the hospital's sterile hallways, my heart raced with a mix of dread and anger. The doctor had
reassuredshe was going to be fine, the buller had only grazed her shoulder sell the weight of her injury
pressed down on me, a stark reminder that my enemies were relentless. My wolf growled in my head,
demanding justice, craving blood. They thought they could crossand get away with it-po one did that.
Ricardo
| knew it was him behind this, and | could feel the fire of vengeance igniting withinas | sped toward his
manik grip tightening around the steering wheel. The sound of the engre roared, drowning out the tumult in my
mind. | could play this smart, be calculated, but my anger was a raging storm dooding my judgment.
| arrived at his mamion, adrenaline coursing through my veins. Two guns were raised atthe moment |
stepped onto hi property. | didn’t hesitate. In a flash, two dead men lay at my feet, their lives souffed out as
easily as candles in a breeze. L pushed through the walls of his house, the stench of his presence heavy in the
air, guidingtoward the dining room.
And then | saw him.
Ricardo sat at the head of the table, a smug smile plastered across his face. Twelve women surrounded him,
dressed in outfits that left little to the imagination-his so-called pets, all of them still, not daring to touch the
lavish spread of food before them. | couldn't help but feel disgusted as | watched him, my blood boiling

“Rico and Mathias, very good at their jobs,” he said, his mouth full of food, a sickening glee in his eyes. “You just
costtwo good men. You'll have to make up for it, Blacky.”
“Stop callingthat.” | snapped, the irritation flaring in my gut. “You went after my Luna”
His grin widened, and he licked his fingers like a glutton savoring his feast. “She’s quite the sight,” he said,
relishing the moment. “I have to admit, | was impressed by you.”
The air in the room plummeted, tension coiling tight as my wolf clawed at my insides. Ricardo’s amusement
flickered, and he raised a gun, pointing it at one of the women. She froze, tears glistening in her eyes. “Take
another step, and I'll star killing them one by one. | know how much you hate unnecessary bloodshed, Blacky.”
| couldn’t look away from the woman, fear etched on her face. | didn’t respond, but my heart pounded in my
chest. He smiled again, lowering the gun, reveling in his power. “You are such a good sport. Why don’t you join
| knew that Ricardo was a man walking a razor’s edge between simity and madness. He thrived on chaos, and |
had danced this dangerous tango with him for too long. He had succeeded in winning once, when he thought he
had killed me, but | had returned stronger, dealing triple the damage in my wake.
“You know,” he continued, shoveling food into his mouth, “I never thought I'd see the day when Grayson
Blackwood cared for a woman so much. In all our fights, you've always known where to find me, but never have
you crossed over into my territory alone, not to mention my horne. Yet here you are, ready to rip my head off
because | went after her.” He paused, savoring the moment. “That's a wonder | never thought | would jee.”

| stepped forward, and the women stilled, fear palpable in the room. “You sent someone to drug my Luna, then
had a shooter sent after her in our hotel. You're indeed seconds away from losing your head.”
His expression shifted, a flash of anger crossing his face. “If there’s one thing | hate more than you, it's false
accusations: | embrace my lunacy, | sent that incompetent fool after your Luna, but I'm not responsible for the
shooting.”
| watched him closely. He was infuriatingly calm, but there was no deceit in his eyes. “Even though you won't
admit it, you enjoy this dance just like | do, he said, leaning back in his chair, a smirk playing on his lips. “I keep
things interesting in you strung-up world, and you helpbask in my lunacy. Since we're here now, I'll admit it:
I'm a very bad shot. The silver bullet was not meant for your heart, and the one t| actually missed right.. if
you had truly died, | would have been so bored. No one ruffles my feathers like you do.” He pouted. “You and |
are two sides of the scoin, and | know you like it.”
| couldn’t help the growl that erupted from my throat. | hated how much his words resonated with me. “You're
not responsible for the shooting?”
“No,” he replied, his voice steady. “The kidnapping, however, that’s all me.” He waved his hand dismissively.
“You would have gotten her back anyway. Maybe 1 was looking for an opportunity to see an old friend.”
| shook my head, frustration surging through me, but something about his honesty made part of my anger fade.
“Then | have better places to be.”
| turned to leave, the weight of the situation heavy on my shoulders. Then, without thinking, | spun back around,
firing at him so fast that no one saw it coming. He let out a groan as the impact caused him to fall backward, and
the screams of the women tore through the air.
“That was for going after Ava,” | said coldly, turning on my heel and starting to walk away. His voice followed me,
gleeful and mocking. “Until next time, my friend.”

I let out a sigh, that hadn't gone as | had expected. It wasn’t going to be my last run with Ricardo but I knew |
was done this for now. | had countless enemies and if it wasn’t him, it could be any one of them.
| let out a sigh, my brain mentally calculating which of them could be in Italy to have sent out a shooter and that
was when | felt it, the crash of exhaustion. My head felt lighter for a moment and I could almost hear her voice.
The one voice | forced myself to shut out more than anyone else.
“You need to rest Gray Gray, you can’t do it all, sometimes it’s okay to rest.”
| could almost picture it, the smile in her beautiful eyes as she bent down and placed a kiss on my head while

The smile never left her face, “Everyone else is within the age fifteen to eighteen,” She leaned in like she was
going to tella secret, “you are just nine and nine year olds have an earlier bedtime, Gray Gray.”
| frowned, pushed my mouth and looked away from her, “It doesn’t matter. I'm going to be king someday, | have
to show them that | am just as strong and | hate it when you callGray Gray
She laughed, “That's your father talking and I’m so sure you hate the nand what a pouty cute king you will
make someday.”
| folded my hand in anger as she tuckedin and got up and when she was almost at the door, still upset that
the older boys were still training while | had to be in bed, | pushed the words out, “I love you”
Her eyes sparkled with so much light that | secretly loved just as much as the nickname. | love you too my Gray
Gray
The memory faded away as | forced the exhaustion away. It had no place just like the memory, didn’t. That was
another lifetime, one that | wanted to forget existed.
| got into the car and her eyes flashed again, this tthey were ill and cold and | wondered if she had ever

things would turn out the way they did.
If she knew that | would grow with so much darkness, that | would be the one to snuff out that sparkle in her
eyes.
That I would be the one to kill her.
